The truth is, the Democratic Party has taken the support and enthusiasm of young Americans for granted, and that hurt us in this election. For over a decade, the Democratic National Committee’s budget for youth organizing has been a whopping $0.

The Democratic Party needs to take action now and make a significant investment in young people across America. We need to empower young people to vote and run for office. Young people are our future, and if we make sure they feel heard and valued, we can create the next wave of Democratic leaders!

The DNC’s current Chair Jamie Harrison is expected to step down in March, and we urge the new chair not to continue to overlook young American s.
