While we’re on the subject of CEOs, we have to talk about Trump’s pick for Energy Secretary, fracking CEO Chris Wright.

Chris Wright is a climate crisis denier and a Big Oil executive who donated $450,000 to Trump’s campaign. Now, Trump is nominating him to be Energy Secretary of the U.S. WTF?

So while we are a nonviolent movement and do not conduct or condone political assassinations, we’re all in on some career assassination, though 😈. That’s why today, we’re asking that you help us make it as difficult as possible for the Senate to justify confirming his nomination. That starts by filing an ethics violation against his oil and gas company, Liberty Energy.

Here are some facts about CEO Chris Wright:

1. Wright is the CEO of Liberty Energy, an oil and gas company primarily dedicated to fracking. In response to evidence linking fracking to serious health effects, he filmed members of Liberty Energy taking shots of fracking fluid (you can watch the clip below - spoiler alert it’s wild, and you should absolutely NOT drink fracking fluid).

2. He thinks climate change is a good thing. In 2019, he said that “1.3 degrees C of warming . . . is a net positive for humanity.” His reasoning? “Economic studies” [read: it's good for he and his shareholders' profit]

3. He wants to strangle clean energy job growth. Wright wants to take away all wind and solar subsidies — even though fracking subsidies built his wealth and continue to prop up his dying, dangerous industry. (He’s just scared of the competition.)

4. He bought his Cabinet nomination. The oil and gas industry gave $2.5 million to Trump's campaign, and $450,000 of that came from Wright himself.

Chris Wright has made it clear: he cares only about himself and his fellow rich oil men. He doesn't care if millions of people die as long as he's making a profit.
