But with God’s favor and your ongoing support, we broke the pro-abortion trifecta here in Minnesota. We stopped horrific bills. And we ceaselessly pursue our legislators with the gospel.
What’s more, we’re celebrating Christmas next week—and then we’re on our way to Easter. Never forget that Jesus took on flesh so that through death He might render Satan powerless, although Satan had the power of death (Hebrews 2:14).
The reality is that in the contest between Jesus and Satan, Jesus always wins. This goes back to the very beginning, when God promised that the coming Son of Man would crush the serpent’s head (Genesis 3:15). With that record of victory, we don’t back down in 2025. Isaiah 40 reminds us that God is incomparably glorious and good, and idols are weak and powerless—they will fall.
This pathetic attempt to draw glory to man cannot stand against the glory of God. John, paper mâché idols shouldn’t scare you.
That doesn’t mean it’s appropriate for our State Capitol, and we are exploring every avenue to ensure that only legitimate displays of religious freedom take place at the Capitol. Meanwhile, if you would like to sanctify the Capitol with prayer and singing, consider joining our friends on the Capitol steps this Wednesday (see below).
Finally, though God laughs at the foolishness of rebellious and ignorant men, we also know that He loves to save them through His Son. This is the greatest laughter—when angry opponents become reconciled friends. So, pray for the Satanists and all those who have consecrated themselves to the idols of our age, that they might come to know Jesus and the “good news of great joy” of His coming (Luke 2:10).
