Dear Friend,

I wanted to provide a legislative update on the work I am doing to advance commonsense, conservative policies to improve the lives of those not just in my district but across the country.

S. 4119; JUDGES Act - PASSED

This legislation expands U.S. district judgeships in a nonpartisan manner to keep up with backlogs in civil and criminal cases that have left district judges overburdened and cases significantly delayed. Currently, the federal judiciary has 677 district court judgeships. No new judgeships have been authorized in over 20 years despite a dramatic increase in case fillings during that same period. To ease burdens on federal courts, promote efficiency, and improve access to justice for Americans across the country, the JUDGES Act authorizes 63 new permanent district court judgeships and three new temporary court judgeships.

H.R. 7673; Liberty in Laundry Act - PASSED

In pursuit of their radical, Green New Deal Agenda, the Biden-Harris Administration has issued energy efficiency rules for appliances that drive up costs and reduce reliability. Hardworking Americans, not Washington bureaucrats, should be able to choose what appliances best fit the needs of their families. The Liberty in Laundry Act protects Americans’ access to affordable, quality home appliances.

Servicemember Quality of Life Improvement and National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2025 - PASSED

As a Veteran who served our nation, it is a priority of mine to make sure America's military is properly prepared to address our homeland security needs. Different from previous NDAA's, this legislation repeals many of the woke Biden Administration policies imposed on our military, including reinstating service members who were discharged for refusing to receive a COVID-19 vaccine and prohibits funding from going towards “gender affirming" care for minors. Our military is not, nor should ever be, used to experiment radical woke and gender ideologies.

District Updates

Military Academy Day:

It was an honor to attend our military academy day in my district. As a Member of Congress, one of the greatest privileges I have is the responsibility to nominate young men and women from my district to attend the Military Academies. Every year, I am encouraged by the talented high school seniors who submit their applications to attend one of our nations' service academies.

Making the decision to serve our nation is a commitment, but it is an honorable career path.

I am also thankful for our wonderful panelists who provided guidance and wisdom to these young applicants as they continue to plan for their future.

Cambridge Social Security Office Location Change:

For those who utilize the Cambridge Social Security office, they are relocating to a new location at 309 Sunburst Highway, Suite 9, Cambridge, MD on Monday, December 16.

Business operations at 828A Airpax Road, Cambridge, MD will end at 12 p.m. on Friday, December 13. Local telephone services will remain available at 888-347-9277.

Wreaths Across America Day:

This year, my staff joined supporters across the country who gathered to remember and honor our country’s fallen heroes. At over 4,600 cemeteries across all 50 states, more than two million volunteers placed a wreath on the grave of a fallen hero and said the name of each veteran aloud.

No matter how or where they served, Wreaths Across America strives to ensure that no one is forgotten

Fox45 Interview on Sanctuary Jurisdictions and States:

As we head into the Trump Administration, I agree with President Trump that we need to deport illegal immigrants who have committed crimes. The bottom line in this clear: if states are not willing to keep up their end of the bargain and enforce or federal immigration laws, they should not receive any further federal funds.

Drone Sightings in Maryland and Across the Country:

I am aware of reports of numerous apparent drone sightings over the Delmarva peninsula and in Salisbury, Maryland in my district. We need transparency now from the White House to find out if these drones are a threat to our national security and if they are, we need to take proper corrective action immediately.
