"Speaker Johnson says he’d ‘like to’ axe PBS and Planned Parenthood"

John, the GOP’s obsession with controlling women’s bodies has reached yet another low.

House Speaker Mike Johnson is signaling that he wants to eliminate all funding for Planned Parenthood. Planned Parenthood does more than provide abortion care; it provides preventive health services, cancer screenings, birth control, family planning, and so much more. These essential services improve the well-being of countless Americans — especially those who can’t otherwise access affordable care. Defunding Planned Parenthood would be catastrophic, and it’s up to us to make sure that doesn’t happen.

We know their real motive. It goes beyond just ending abortion care. It’s about dismantling the infrastructure that allows women to access affordable, comprehensive reproductive healthcare. It’s about turning back the clock and silencing women.

Chris believes the fight for a more perfect union means standing up for a woman’s right to control her own body and make her own healthcare decisions.
