Raquel Willis: There's this judicial fight that we're seeing with US v Skrmetti hitting the Supreme Court last week. This case is really considered the most consequential case to specifically target trans folks. What's frightening about this case is that we know it's coming at a time when there is this ultra-conservative majority on the Supreme Court, and we've already seen the rollbacks on so many landmark decisions. Radical defiance is something that we have to do in the face of fascism, in the face of authoritarianism, in the face of ultra nationalism, and we have to be willing to call it that.
We want to share comments about last week's episode Refusing Trump’s Orders: Military Resistance to Mass Deportation
Roberto Martinez: "These are immoral orders. I was in Fort Hood, Texas, In 1968, we were ordered to go to Chicago after Dr Martin Luther King was murdered. I refused to go, along with my other Vietnam veterans."
Pete Schumacher: "One concern I have is that the Trump MAGA forces will create 'volunteers' for national security, Italy blackshirts as a backup and mobilization tool for mass deportations and other repression. They probably also want to change the ethnic and ideological composition of the military fairly quickly."
