As the final weeks of this Congress take place, there are two dangerous bills attacking the Palestinian Solidarity movement up in front of the Senate that we need to pressure our Senators to vote AGAINST. The "Non-Profit Killer Bill" and the so-called "Antisemitism Awareness Act."

1)?S. 4136,?the Nonprofit Killer bill,??is a dangerous and unconstitutional bill that would grant the incoming Trump administration sweeping power to unilaterally shut down nonprofit organizations, without having to disclose why or adhere to due process. This legislation is widely opposed by organizations including? the ACLU, the Brennan Center, Public Citizen, AFT, the NEA, the NAACP, and National Women's Law Center.,?

2) S. 4127 the Antisemitism Awareness Act.?S. 4127 would codify into law the controversial and discredited IHRA working definition of antisemitism. This bill is opposed by? civil liberties groups like the ACLU, Jewish and Palestinian human rights organizations, and major newspaper editorial boards like the New York Times. This legislation does not make Jewish communities safer; it would only silence free speech.?

In lieu of our typical monthly meeting, we'll celebrate another year of solidarity and community at the end of this month with a potluck at Earthcare.?

The Santa Fe Teen Center is calling for artists to perform during the Posada Latina Southside on Dec. 19 from 4-8 p.m.
Submissions are accepted for any kind of youth performance, from music to theater to visual arts and crafts.

Our Reading Group will be starting a new book next month, Four Futures, by Peter Frase. This short but fascinating book examines possible outcomes after the inevitable fall of capitalism.

The first meeting will discuss the Introduction and chapter 1 of the book. It will take place Sunday, January 19 at 4pm at CHOMP Food Hall.
