Hi John,
Labour are reportedly considering approving devastating bee-killing pesticides for use early next year, despite promising to ban them during their election campaign. [1,2]
But together we can still stop this by showing the government the public wants bees protected. Over 1.6 million people have signed our bees petition, one of our biggest ever. We’re planning to hand this in early next year to show them the public want these pesticides banned, not approved. Every name makes our voice louder - can you add yours?

These bee-killing pesticides, known as neonicotinoids, are brutal. Just a single teaspoon of this stuff is enough to kill 1.25 BILLION bees. Yes, billion. But it’s not just bees these pesticides are harmful to, it’s all our pollinators like butterflies and wasps. And thanks to pesticide use, and unusually wet weather thanks to an unstable climate, pollinator numbers are at record lows. [3]
Pollinators are vital, without them our ecosystems would collapse. With no pollinators we’d have fewer plants, fewer crops or fruits, less food for animals, and less food for us. We must protect them.
The EU has already done the right thing by banning neonicotinoids to protect the delicate balance of our ecosystems. During their election campaign, Labour promised to do the same - but now, there’s worrying reports they could u-turn and approve these dangerous pesticides in January. This is a critical moment, together we must prevent this.
Labour are suffering in the polls right now and are looking to take popular measures. Banning these pesticides would not only boost their image, but also help protect our natural world. We’re going to take the names of more than 1.6 million people - hopefully including yours - to the government early next year to show them people want our bees protected. Can you add your name to one of our biggest ever petitions - and help push the government to do the right thing?

Just last week a new report showed these bee-harming pesticides were found in the majority of English waterways. [4] It’s clear that we have a problem, and Labour’s election promise shows that they know this - we just need to push them to do the right thing. Make sure you act.
Thanks for all you do,
Anthony
P.S.
A recent investigation has exposed that some of these banned pesticides are being shipped abroad where they’re causing health problems for people. [5] We shouldn’t be selling what we know is toxic, and what we’ve banned here. The first step is to get a total ban here - then we need Labour to stop the export of banned pesticides that harm people and the planet.
