Last weekend, Syria collapsed.
Bashar Al-Assad, the brutal dictator of Syria for nearly 20 years, was overthrown and fled for his survival, to Russia. Now, Israel and the United States are targeting Syrian military bases, equipment and other key sites, destroying much of the capacity of a new regime to attack Israel.
It’s hard to imagine that giant Syria has fallen, yet this creates an additional border conflict for Israel - at the same time that Israel is already engaged in battles with Hamas in the West and Hezbollah in the North.
