Election Day is more than a month behind us, but I’ve been full steam ahead! Your support is a big reason why I’m on this journey, so I wanted to show you a photo dump to show you exactly what I’ve been up to:
Last month, I completed new member orientation at the U.S. Capitol. It was an awe-inspiring, informative, and jam-packed couple of weeks of learning how to be a U.S. representative!
I got to sneak away over the weekend (perks of being driving distance from DC!) to join the Brandywine Hundred Fire Company in celebrating 100 years of service to Bellefonte! I’m so grateful to our dedicated firefighters who serve and protect our community day in and day out.
I also spoke to the bipartisan Future Caucus, a coalition of young Democratic and Republican state legislators, about our responsibility to work together to solve our nation’s crisis of hope — by proving that our democracy can still deliver.
Then, I attended the annual Big Ive Turkey Drive, one of my favorite Thanksgiving traditions, with Senator Coons and Senator-elect Blunt Rochester. It was all love and hugs as I joined elected officials, volunteers, and students to provide free turkeys to seniors in Wilmington.
Next, I was thrilled to celebrate the opening of the new state-of-the-art Allied Health Center of Excellence at the Delaware Technical Community College Wilmington campus. Funded with public funds, this new facility will enhance Delaware Tech's ability to educate the next generation of health care professionals.
Last week, I celebrated my favorite holiday — Delaware Day! Nearly 250 years ago, Delaware became the first state to sign on to the journey that is America. As a proud statriot, I may say, “I’m from the greatest state in the history of the union” more than any other sentence.
Last but not least, earlier this week we wrapped our second orientation gathering: Harvard’s Bipartisan Program for Newly Elected Members of Congress.
We heard from current and former representatives from both parties and experts that spanned the ideological spectrum on issues that ranged from taxes to housing to Artificial Intelligence to foreign affairs — and everything in between! It was wonderful to further get to know new colleagues on both sides of the aisle while hearing from brilliant minds studying some of the biggest issues of the day.
As you can see, the past few weeks have been busy, but I’m having a great time rolling up my sleeves, diving into the details, and keeping up the fight to deliver for all Delawareans! That’s what this campaign has always been about.
But the end of the month is approaching fast — when we’ll face our last public FEC deadline before I’m sworn in on January 3 — and there hasn’t been much time for fundraising.
