It's been a productive week in Washington!

I will always fight for the people of TX-23 and deliver real solutions that strengthen our communities.

Putting Our Troops First

The passage of the Servicemember Quality of Life Improvement and National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2025 (NDAA) by the House this week is a win for TX-23 and for our troops.

I was proud to support this legislation, which will increase pay for junior troops, provide over $260 million in funding for TX-23 military bases, cut wasteful spending, and improve quality of life initiatives for servicemembers.

The men and women who answered the call to serve are vital to our nation’s national security mission. Ensuring our servicemembers and military families have the resources they need to thrive will always be a top priority of mine.

Click the graphic below to read more about the NDAA.

When I joined the Navy in the 90s, I brought home less than $900 a month as an E-1.

Today, E-1’s make $24,206 a year. The NDAA will kick in a 14.5% pay raise for our junior troops and a 4.5% pay bump across the board for our service members in 2025. Additionally, the NDAA will improve military housing and address cost of living issues for our servicemembers.

In Congress, I will continue working to improve the quality of life for our

men and women in uniform.

Raising Concerns Over Unidentified Drones in American Airspace

This week, I questioned officials from the FBI, CBP, and DOJ on the recent drone sightings over American airspace. Here’s what we learned:

  1. The FBI has no clue why unidentified drones are flying over New Jersey
  2. We don’t have any control over foreign drones at the U.S.-Mexico border

Americans expect and deserve more answers from their government on this issue.

Strengthening Public Safety

Our courts are understaffed and overwhelmed by a massive backlog of

cases—jeopardizing the prosecution of criminals.

This week, I proudly voted for the JUDGES Act in the U.S. House of Representatives to keep Texans safe by adding more federal judgeships to ensure that everyone has their day in court.
