You might have missed this news earlier this week, so we wanted to lift it up:

Rep. Maxwell Frost was just elected co-chair of the Democratic Policy and Communications Committee, becoming the first Gen-Z congressional leader!

Young people are rising up and making our voices heard in the halls of power. Pitch in $27 to help Leaders We Deserve elect more young progressives. 

This is an incredible moment for young people. We belong at the forefront of the progressive movement – and the Democratic Party is listening and taking notice.

Our co-founder David Hogg was an avid, early supporter of Maxwell’s candidacy. And our other founder, Kevin Lata, was Maxwell’s campaign manager. Today, Maxwell is an invaluable member of Congress and serves on the Leaders We Deserve Advisory Board, helping us to foster the next generation of leaders.

Maxwell is a prime example of the kind of leaders we’re trying to advocate for and elect here at Leaders We Deserve and his campaign showed just how uneven the playing field is for young and working-class candidates. Maxwell drove for Uber in the early morning hours before spending the rest of the day on the campaign trail.

We are working to tear down the barriers that young people face when running for office. There are TONS of inspiring young progressives who are ready to follow Maxwell’s lead – but they need our support so they can fight and win.
