FRC Remains Your Voice

Dear John,

We knew that 2020 would be an important year for America's future direction, but no one could have anticipated the national emergency caused by the coronavirus pandemic. As federal, state, and local governments have taken unprecedented measures to combat the spread of the virus, FRC is bringing a biblically balanced perspective to the situation.

I am honored that the Lord has established Family Research Council to champion the values of faith, family, and freedom on your behalf even during this crisis.

Nearly 30 years ago, I entered politics primarily to stand for the sanctity of human life, especially vulnerable lives in the womb.

During my time as a state representative in Louisiana, I authored the first abortion clinic regulation act; one of the first measures of its kind in the nation.

Only weeks ago, on March 4, I attended oral arguments for the Supreme Court case June Medical Services v. Russo, in which an abortion clinic is challenging a state law requiring abortionists to have admitting privileges at a nearby hospital. The Louisiana requirement is a commonsense law by which many other medical professionals are required to abide in order to safeguard patients' health.

More than 10,000 women walk through the doors of Louisiana's abortion clinics every year -- and any one of them could face life-threatening complications. However, by forgoing hospital admitting privileges, the abortion industry shows their primary concern is not for their patients -- but for profits.

FRC filed an amicus brief in the case outlining that Louisiana Act 620 is squarely within the state's rights and responsibility to regulate the medical field and should be upheld as constitutional.

With it, Louisiana is proving that the pro-life movement is pro-woman.

Travis Weber, FRC's Vice President for Policy and Government Affairs, who assisted in filing our amicus brief in the case, commented:

"It is time that abortion providers are no longer given a pass on ignoring women's safety. Abortion providers should be subject to the same neutral regulations as everyone else."

FRC is your voice in the halls of our government to protect both the life of the mother and the baby in her womb. Will you help us create a culture of life? Every donation -- whatever you can give at this time -- promotes the sanctity of life!

If there is anything we have learned in the 47 years since Roe v. Wade, it is that protecting the lives of both unborn babies and their mothers requires vigilance.

Despite the Left's hysterical fearmongering, June Medical Services v. Russo has nothing to do with Roe. This case is about whether the statehas the right to ensure that abortionists who take women's money also provide for their safety.

For too long, the abortion industry has put profits before the safety of women. Along with the state of Louisiana, 22 other states, the Trump administration, 207 members of Congress, and many other organizations, we at FRC believe now is the time for the High Court to put women's health first.

Will the Supreme Court side with the state of Louisiana to protect women's health and safety?

The outcome of this case will be announced in the next few weeks and could change the entire landscape of American abortion law -- putting it back in the hands of the states, where it belongs.

That said, I look forward to the day when the Supreme Court will correct the gross injustice of the Roe v. Wade decision that has led to the killing of tens of millions of unborn babies.

Rest assured that, as we provide leadership on Capitol Hill and support the church through this season, our FRC team is actively continuing to strengthen families, advance religious freedom, and protect vulnerable lives.

Your prayers and financial support are an integral part of the important work we do! Will you join us in our efforts on behalf of our shared values?

While the radical Left defends abortion, promotes an anti-biblical agenda, and threatens religious freedom in the United States and around the world, your donations help Family Research Council to advance faith, family, and freedom.
