COVID-19 UPDATES & PARTNERSHIPS
On March 9, Seattle Foundation launched the COVID-19 Response Fund in coordination with philanthropic, government, and private sector partners. In a matter of weeks—and in close collaboration with the Pandemic Community Advisory Group, United Way of King County, and our Fund partners—Seattle Foundation rapidly deployed more than $10 million in grants to 128 community-based organizations supporting local workers and families most affected by the coronavirus crisis. We are grateful for the outpouring of generosity from Fund partners, SeaFdn philanthropists, donors, and many others who have collectively raised $23 million. Information about Phase 2 funding can be found here.
NONPROFIT RESOURCES Understanding that our nonprofit partners are facing many significant needs, we also created a resource list to help you find the tools, services, and support you need to navigate this crisis.
PARTNERSHIPS People across King County are stepping up to provide support in many inspiring ways. For example, All In Seattle is a growing coalition of philanthropic, civic-minded individuals pledging to go “all in”—generously supporting various relief efforts across the region. Launched March 23, All In Seattle has engaged more than 250 donors to date, pledging more than $30 million to response funds across the Greater Seattle region.
Local restaurants often serve as the connective tissue for our community—by nourishing all of us and building a sense of belonging. The Plate Fund, created by the Schultz Family Foundation in partnership with #allinseattle, Seattle Foundation and UpTogether, launched April 6. So far, The Plate Fund has raised more than $7 million and has provided 14,200 King County restaurant workers with immediate, one-time $500 payments.

Washington Census Alliance
In 2019, Seattle Foundation forged a partnership with King County and Washington Census Alliance to form the Regional Census Fund that would help ensure an accurate count of historically undercounted communities. The 2020 Census is now underway, and more than 70 community-based organizations around the state are putting grants totaling $3 million to work at the grassroots level. They are reaching out to tribes and communities of color to share information, assuage fear and confusion, and increase census participation in order to achieve a more equitable distribution of government resources and representation in our state.
