Over a thousand medical professionals have signed on to the Dublin Declaration, which states abortion is never medically necessary.
John,
Abortion is never medically necessary.
Over a thousand medical professionals have signed on to the Dublin Declaration, which states abortion is never medically necessary. Former abortionists have admitted none of the abortions they committed in the past were necessary. They write:
“As experienced practitioners and researchers in obstetrics and gynecology, we affirm that direct abortion – the purposeful destruction of the unborn child – is not medically necessary to save the life of a woman.”
The lie that abortion is medically necessary is costing women not just their children but their health and sometimes even their own lives.
One tragic case happened just months ago: Amber Thurman died after taking the abortion pill that she obtained from an abortion facility in North Carolina. The abortion was incomplete and she developed sepsis – a complication listed on the black box warning on Mifeprex (mifepristone).
Despite these known risks, the abortionist did not follow up with Amber. The abortion pill and medical negligence caused the death of her and her twins, but abortion activists falsely blamed Georgia’s pro-life law.
April Lowery ([link removed] ) died from a botched abortion in 2020. An autopsy showed she had a hole torn in her uterus, had lost 51 ounces of blood internally, and her baby was still intact in her uterus when she arrived at the hospital after the abortion facility sent her home.
Ashley Norris also had an abortion in 2020, suffered a perforated uterus, and her bowels were “mangled.” Parts of her baby were still inside of her and had been shoved through the hole in her uterus. Ashely required emergency surgery to have her uterus removed, leaving her sterile.
These are heartbreaking, horrifying stories… and they are recent.
The abortion pill now makes up over 60% of all abortions. The small pill is advertised as “safe,” yet these stories and the broader statistics clearly show otherwise:
- Chemical Abortion (Abortion Pill) Risks
- Between 2.9% and 4.6% of women who take abortion pills require emergency room visits.
- 7% of women need surgery after taking mifepristone to stop bleeding or complete the abortion.
- The FDA reports 32 deaths most likely linked to mifepristone use since its approval in 2000, including cases of ectopic pregnancy and sepsis.
- From January 2019 to December 2023, 39,000 women needed medical treatment for complications associated with the abortion pill in the UK. 18,000 were admitted to the hospital. (6%)
As you can see, the statistics are telling, but they are incomplete. Only 28 states require abortion complication reporting, and many do not make this data publicly available.
On top of that, reporting discrepancies lead to underestimations of the true risks associated with abortion.
Even just the limited statistics we do have reveal a sobering truth: abortion is not without significant risks to women’s physical and emotional health. The lack of comprehensive data and reporting further obscures the true impact on women, leaving many to bear the hidden scars of a procedure deceptively marketed as “safe.”
One thing is clear: America has largely been brainwashed to believe preborn children are disposable objects that have no value when the mother’s health or life is at risk.
In such cases, the humanity of the preborn child is ignored or even denied. What’s fascinating, though, is that this failure to recognize the humanity of the preborn child did not used to be the case.
In Planned Parenthood’s own 1951 book, The Gift of Life, it tells readers: “If one of the male sperm meets and unites with an egg cell, a new life begins.”
Likewise the 1965 Guttmacher Institute (pro-abortion) book Planning Your Family, by Dr. Guttmacher himself, states: “Fertilization, then, has taken place; a baby has been conceived. After conception occurs, the egg attaches itself to the wall of the womb where it grows nine months until the baby is ready to be born.”
In cases where the mother is experiencing health complications, early delivery is always an option. This respects both lives — mother and child — even if the child sadly does not survive the preterm delivery. That is not abortion because it’s not intentional killing.
Yet even many medical professionals do not see this distinction since the abortion industry has subtly and gradually increased its misinformation tactics, resulting in this tragic widespread acceptance of nonsense “exception” laws.
We did not get here overnight, and we will not fix it overnight. We have a sacred responsibility to spread the truth that will save not just the lives of preborn babies but their mothers as well.
Thank you for joining me to spread the truth that abortion is never medically necessary and it never helps women.
