Even after establishment Democrats try to create excuses and scapegoats for poor election results instead of changing their ways, we’re still in the fight to radically transform the Party.
During the election, Bernie talked about class at a town hall, even when the Party was tip-toeing around economic policies that would materially help everyday people. If the Democratic Party continues embracing the ultra-rich, corporate super PACs, and the self-serving consultant class, Democrats will continue losing elections to fake economic populists like Donald Trump.
So why isn’t class a focus? Bernie nails it: “Because when you talk about class, you risk working people coming together and taking back power from the top 1%.”
If the Party listens to Bernie, Democrats have a real, fighting chance. We are organizing actions right now to press our demands at the DNC’s upcoming meetings where the decisions will be made that determine the leadership and direction of the Party.
Trump is about to unleash his cronies to upend the government to serve the oligarchs even more. We need a true opposition party to fight back — or else risk losing the next election, and the one after that, to Trump and his handpicked MAGA successors.
