Hi John, Today marks the 12th anniversary of the Sandy Hook Elementary School tragedy. On that day, 20 children and 6 educators lost their lives in a school that should have been a safe place. Their absence has left an indelible mark on families, a community, and our nation.
This tragedy catalyzed a movement and underscored the urgent need for meaningful action. It led us to build the Alliance, and it continues to guide our work each day. We remember the victims by pressing forward, demanding commonsense gun laws, investing in communities, and working to end the senseless violence and loss that gun violence brings.
On this solemn anniversary, we renew our commitment: We will fight for stronger policies, safer schools, and communities free from gun violence. We know that change is possible. We know that every action we take—whether it’s passing legislation, educating our neighbors, or holding our leaders accountable—brings us closer to a future where tragedies like Sandy Hook are not a part of our national story.
Thank you for standing with us as we honor those we lost and continue to work for a safer tomorrow. In community,
