Hi Friend, We are thrilled to share an incredible milestone this holiday season: Xamã the jaguar has officially returned to his natural home in the Amazon! Thanks to you, he is the first male jaguar to be released back into the wild in the Amazon forest.
His journey to freedom began when he was rescued in August 2022 as an orphan cub near an area devastated by the Amazon fires. Since then, World Animal Protection, in collaboration with Onçafari and other local organizations, has supported Xamã’s rehabilitation—a two-year process that transformed him from a vulnerable cub into a strong, independent jaguar. |
