When you’ve been working in Congress as long as I have, you
learn to call out hypocrisy when you see it.
That’s exactly what I did a few months ago when my colleague Rep.
Matt Gaetz tried to use Hunter Biden’s personal substance abuse
issues as a diversion during the impeachment hearings. I warned
that we should refrain from “the pot calling the kettle black”
given Mr. Gaetz’s own troubled past with a D.U.I. arrest.
I wasn’t afraid to call him out
once before, and now I’m doing it again.
We already knew that Matt Gaetz
didn’t take this pandemic seriously -- after all, he mocked social
distancing guidelines by showing up to the House chamber in a gas
mask earlier this year. But now, his actions are jeopardizing our
nation’s response when there are lives at stake.
After peddling right-wing
conspiracies on Fox News, Matt Gaetz played an instrumental role
in cutting vital funding for coronavirus research. A $3.4 million
grant for studying viruses like COVID-19 was slashed by President
Trump at Gaetz’s will.
John,
there’s simply too much at stake to allow people like Matt Gaetz
to jeopardize our response to the coronavirus. Chip in to my
re-election campaign so I can keep holding Gaetz and his misdeeds
accountable.

I think it’s especially ironic that Gaetz feels so comfortable
cutting funding for critical research considering he has no
trouble using nearly $200,000 in taxpayer dollars to pay a donor
friend for office space.
Matt Gaetz’s tenure in Congress
has been mired by hypocrisy. As long as he keeps this behavior
up, I’ll continue to call it like I see it.
America deserves better than what
Gaetz has delivered in Congress. Chip in to support bold
leadership that stands up to Trump sycophants like him. →
