Friends,
I hope you and your family are well! I wanted to provide you with a few updates regarding what’s going on –
Stop Campus Hazing Act Passes Senate
The Stop Campus Hazing Act passed in the Senate, and we’re one step closer to saving lives like Tucker Hipps and other students tragically killed in suspected incidents of campus hazing. I applaud my colleagues as we honor Tucker’s memory. This bipartisan, bicameral legislation mandates greater transparency in fraternity hazing reporting.
Looking Back on 14 Years as Congressman for SC-03
In one of my last floor speeches, I took some time to reflect on my 14-year career serving as Representative for South Carolina's Third District and fighting for Conservative values. I thanked my colleagues, committee staff, congressional staff, and my Creator. It's been a privilege and honor to be part of this great American institution.
Lowering Costs for Prescription Drugs
I joined over 100 members of Congress in signing a letter demanding legislative action on pharmacy benefit manager (PBM) reform. The Lower Cost, More Transparency Act which passed the House with large bipartisan support includes reforms to lower prescription drug costs and protect independent pharmacies.
Liberty in Laundry
I stood on the House floor to push back against the Biden Administration's radical climate agenda and fought to protect the affordability, quality, and choice of your appliances. The Liberty in Laundry Act will defend the needs of everyday Americans and put more of their hard-earned money back in their pockets.
Legacy Video
To try to encapsulate my 14 years in Washington, D.C., representing South Carolina’s Third District, my team put together a series of interviews highlighting key moments and memories of my time in office.
There are 15 mini-episodes, or you can watch the full length video (36:07)
Here are a few of the mini-episodes I'd particularly like to mention:
Episode 12 - A Father's Influence
Episode 13 - A Message to My Staff
Episode 14 - A Message to Constituents
Episode 15 - Final Goodbye
