Anti-America Policies Are Putting American Lives in Danger
Fox News [[link removed]][link removed]
Joe Biden and blue state governors and mayors are doing everything they can to undermine our country and incoming President Donald Trump. Their radical, anti-America policies are putting American lives in danger. I joined Laura Ingraham on her program Thursday evening to discuss. Click here to watch [[link removed]].
Governor Abbott and I spoke last night about purchasing "wall" material President Biden is auctioning off. The Governor had already instructed the Texas Facilities Commission, which oversees Texas’ border wall construction, to look at what Biden was selling.
The Texas Facilities Commission told us today that the material for sale was mostly junk, with most panels covered in concrete and rust. There were a few panels that might be usable, but not worth the cost of shipping to Texas from Arizona.
In short, this was a Biden ruse to gain favor with the radical left open border crowd, showing Biden was fighting President Trump to the bitter end.
Rest assured, if they sell any panels that make economic sense, we will buy them and give them to President Trump when he takes office.
Governor Abbott, the state legislature, and I all stand ready to help President Trump quickly secure our southern border.
Sergio Rodriguez’s Family and Friends Will Never Forget Him – I Want to Make Sure Texans Never Forget Him as Well
Houston Chronicle [[link removed]][link removed]
This week, 15-year-old Sergio Rodriguez tragically lost his life near Milby High School in Houston, where he attended, when he was hit by a train. This should never have happened.
I just learned the neighborhood has asked for years for a pedestrian bridge to be built for students to safely cross the train tracks. I don’t know why they don’t have a bridge, but that’s about to change.
Over the past year, the Texas Senate Committee on Transportation has taken up the interim charges I issued and examined issues surrounding railroad-grade crossings. Last month, I told Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) Commissioner Steve Alvis to make sure TxDOT requested more funds to address these problems. These crossings cause tremendous traffic congestion across the state and are very dangerous. Texas is number one in the nation for accidents at railroad-grade crossings.
This upcoming legislative session, I will ask Sen. Carol Alvarado, a Milby High School graduate, to carry a bill to allow this bridge to be built and name it after Sergio. His family and friends will never forget him, and I want to make sure Texans never forget him either.
Houston Mayor John Whitmire has asked Union Pacific to pay for a pedestrian bridge so that Milby High School students can get to school safely. If Union Pacific does not step up, I will ask members of the Texas Senate and House to carve out funds to build this bridge as soon as possible in Sergio’s memory. Houston Mayor John Whitmire and Houston ISD should make this a priority item, start the design, and fast-track this project. The students and neighborhood deserve to be safe.
A Majority of Republican House Members MUST Choose the Speaker
X [[link removed]][link removed]
After State Rep. David Cook exceeded the vote threshold needed on Saturday to be the Texas House Republican Caucus nominee for Speaker, I congratulated him and praised the process. He won fair and square by caucus rules.
I join Governor Abbott in affirming that a majority of Republican House members must choose the Speaker. Any Republican Speaker candidate who attempts a coup d'état to steal the Speaker’s gavel with a majority of Democrats and only a handful of Republicans will never be accepted by Republican voters.
Republican voters do not want the Republican Party to cede power to Democrat chairmen, which has been happening for over a decade. The Governor and the Republican voters have spoken. Most importantly, the Republican caucus has spoken. It’s time for 76 House Republicans to come together to support the Texas House Republican Caucus nominee. Texas is watching. The nation is watching.
I Had No Idea Otis Was a Rockets Fan!

For about six years, I’ve included a picture or cartoon of our family dog, Otis, on our Christmas card. People ask me about him all the time. He’s a 115-pound Bernedoodle [[link removed]]. I had no idea he was a Rockets fan!
Thank you all for your support and everything you do to keep Texas red. May God bless you and your family, and may He continue to bless the greatest state of all—Texas.
Sincerely,
