A Message from Gabe:
Greetings Rhode Islanders,
This week, the House passed the bipartisan Thomas R. Carper Water Resources Development Act, which included several priorities I pushed for to bolster climate resiliency, strengthen flood protection, invest in our infrastructure, and increase regional collaboration with our neighboring states.
I secured the following priorities for Rhode Island’s First Congressional District in the bill:
The bill also includes the Southern New England Regional Commission Act, which I helped introduce alongside Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro (CT-03). The bill would establish a regional commission covering Rhode Island and surrounding counties in Massachusetts and Connecticut to promote economic development and federal investments in renewable energy, defense manufacturing, the maritime economy, infrastructure, and job training.
I am proud to have secured real wins that will benefit our state’s local infrastructure and climate resiliency needs. This legislation is now on a path to becoming law because it will strengthen neighborhoods, expand flood mitigation efforts, deliver clean drinking water, and foster cooperation on issues that span borders and communities.
Sincerely, |
 |
Gabe Amo |

Stepping up as a Future Forum Caucus Co-Chair in the 119th Congress
Congressman Gabe Amo alongside his new co-chairs, Congresswoman Brittany Pettersen (CO-07) and Congressman Morgan McGarvey (KY-03).
This week, the Future Forum Caucus — a coalition of millennial and Gen Z House Democrats — held leadership elections for the upcoming 119th Congress. I'm honored that I was chosen by my colleagues to serve as the new Co-Chair for Policy!
As we look ahead to the fights to come, this new generation of leaders in Congress will surely be on the front lines — defending our core values, advocating for common sense solutions, and advancing economic prosperity for every American. I look forward to partnering with my co-chairs, Congresswoman Pettersen (CO-07), Congressman McGarvey (KY-03), and everyone in our caucus to inspire our next leaders. Let’s get to work!
