Alley Cat Allies
Help us educate people to save cats during cold months.
Friend,
Winter is here, and it’s a dangerous time for cats.
The threat is one many people may not consider: animal shelters with lethal and inhumane programs.
Unfortunately, during the winter, many community cats are removed from their outdoor homes (where they can thrive in all kinds of weather) and brought to animal shelters. But the truth is that cats who enter animal shelters without the right humane programs—of which there are too many—are likely to be killed.
Friend, if you want to protect cats this winter, I urge you to send an emergency contribution to Alley Cat Allies today so we can end lethal policies and educate communities on the real, effective ways to help cats and kittens!
Here is some of the work your generosity makes possible:
Providing education and resources to help communities supply outdoor shelters to community cats. Community cats thrive in all weather, but caregivers can always lend a helping hand.
Sharing comprehensive, expert educational materials with communities to advocate for humane, evidence-based community and shelter policies that protect and save cats’ lives.
Providing no-cost cat food to caregivers through our Cats Are Family Too™ program. During the cold winter months, cats need more food to stay warm.
Expanding Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) education and programs during winter, especially with kitten season—the time of year starting in spring when most kittens are born—around the corner.
Providing vital care and resources to community cats year-round by supporting local advocates, veterinarians, and organizations that have low-cost spay and neuter, TNR, and cat food bank programs.
By educating cat advocates, veterinarians, shelters, and communities about the evidence-based, humane policies that have positive impacts for cats, we can save cats’ lives not only in winter, but year-round.
Please, friend, your donation is critical. We can save countless lives this winter, but only with your support starting today.
For the cats,
Alley Cat Allies
