Here’s the hard truth, John —
Without emergency funding, the United States Postal Service could collapse in a few months — leaving hundreds of thousands of Americans without jobs (many of whom are veterans) and tens of millions without the important services they provide.
John, I don’t need to tell you what a critical lifeline the United States Postal Service is for our families and communities to get the essentials they need, especially during this pandemic.
Millions of folks rely on the USPS to receive their wages, Social Security benefits, prescription drugs, mail ballots to safely vote from home — the list goes on.
As the economic impact of the coronavirus grows, it’s never been more important that we protect this vital public service without raising costs on cash-strapped families. But Donald Trump refuses to provide federal relief for the USPS.
That’s why I’m asking you:
Will you sign my petition to demand the Trump administration provide emergency relief to save the United States Postal Service and protect 500,000 essential workers’ jobs? We need the USPS now more than ever. Add your voice to the fight to save it today.
Whether it’s through snow, rain, heat — we can rely on our postal workers no matter what. They have put their lives on the line to keep us all connected and make sure we’re receiving essential deliveries throughout this crisis. And they’re part of our communities — just last weekend, USPS trucks rolled through our neighborhood to honor the class of 2020, including my daughter Caroline.
That’s why it’s so critical we do everything we can to keep the USPS functioning.
Thanks for everything. Take care and stay safe.
