This week, I continued to meet with some of President-elect Trump's cabinet nominees. On Tuesday, I met with our next director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Kash Patel. The FBI is in need of major reform, not in the field, but on the Hoover building's 7th floor. Kash shares my view and is committed to making the FBI mission-focused once again. As someone who advocated on his behalf, I'm excited to see the transformation of a weaponized organization under Joe Biden into a force for good that works on behalf of the American people.
Watch a quick preview of my meeting here.
As someone who speaks with President Trump on a regular basis, I've never seen an administration so ready to go on day one. Republicans have a clear mandate, and we will deliver. As your Senator, one of my most important responsibilities is my constitutional obligation to vet and review Trump’s cabinet nominees. The 47th President has made outstanding picks, and I will support ALL of Trump's nominees. Four of them however, have been making a lot of headlines.
This week, I published a 'Mullin It Over' column detailing the importance of confirming Pete Hegseth to be our Secretary of Defense, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to be the Secretary for Health and Human Services, Lt. Col. Tulsi Gabbard to serve as the Director of National Intelligence, and Kash Patel to serve as the Director of the FBI. Check it out here.
We're just 39 days out from the incoming Trump administration, but that won't stop my Senate Democrat colleagues from doing everything they can to ram through liberal priorities before they are fired by the American people. 11 appropriations bills are gathering dust on Chuck Schumer's desk, and we still need to pass the NDAA. I cannot wait for January 20th when Donald Trump will get our country back on track. Click the image above for a rundown on where things stand, and the latest on cabinet nominees.
