| Preparing for Session |
I recently received my committee assignments for the 124th Indiana General Assembly.
Why it matters: Committees are the first stop for a bill during the legislative process. In committees, members of the public, industry experts and lawmakers all have the opportunity to properly discuss and thoroughly examine public policy proposals before they move to the full Senate for further consideration.
During the upcoming session, I will serve on the following Senate committees.
- Environmental Affairs, ranking member
- Commerce and Technology
- Pensions and Labor
- Utilities
Committee hearings can be viewed online by visiting iga.in.gov. Legislative calendars, agendas, vote tallies and proposed legislation can also be found on this site.

Helping Hoosiers this Holiday Season
For many people, the holiday season is filled with joy and happiness, but for some Hoosiers, it can also cause stress and increase financial burdens.

Operation Holiday Helps Veterans Experiencing Financial Hardship
The MFRF Operation Holiday Program is designed to assist veterans and their families who are experiencing financial hardship.
This special program can assist with essential holiday expenses for dependent children that reside in the veteran’s home and a holiday meal for qualified veterans.
When you apply and qualify, the Operation Holiday Program can offer $200 for holiday meal plus $300 per dependent child from the Military Family
Relief Fund.
