Here’s an encouraging statistic going into 2025, John:
Speaker Mike Johnson is going to have the smallest House Majority of all time.
And it’s because of the organizing and mobilization work we were able to do here in California.
Democrats left the 2024 Election with more U.S. House seats than we had when we came in, and with Donald Trump appointing GOP Members of Congress to his administration, Speaker Mike Johnson will be left with a one-seat majority .
We were able to chip away at Mike Johnson’s Republican Majority and flip seats because we started organizing earlier than ever — and we can’t let our mobilization programs fall by the wayside in 2025. We are going to need to keep our Forever Organizing initiatives running at full speed to hold Trump accountable and begin laying the groundwork for flipping more seats. Will you consider making a generous $ donation today? [[link removed]]
[link removed] [[link removed]]Let's do some math, John:
The 2024 Election left Speaker Johnson with 220 seats to Democrats’ 215 seats.
But Rep. Matt Gaetz resigned in an attempt to become Attorney General (which crashed and burned). That takes Republicans to 219 .
Donald Trump has announced that he will appoint Representatives Elise Stefanik and Mike Waltz to his administration. That takes Republicans down to 217, on par with the narrowest controlling margin in House history.
Simply put, Speaker Johnson won’t be able to afford a single defection on the House floor.
That’s how close we are to taking back control of the U.S. House of Representatives. But we can’t take our eyes off the ball and let our organizing programs get shuttered or mothballed. We need to keep our operations running, which is why we are asking for a generous donation of $ or more today. What do you say? [[link removed]]
