Hello John,

Bless their hearts. Big-government lawmakers are still trying to pass a
government takeover of the U.S. health care system.

Even though evidence keeps mounting that these systems are, in many cases,
quite literally bad for your health.

Keep reading to find solutions that put you in control of your health care and
how AFP can help you make your voice heard.

Here are just a few recent headlines about the United Kingdom’s government-run
National Health Service:

* NHS plunged into winter crisis with heart attack patients advised to make
own way to hospital
* Gynecology patients going private to avoid NHS waiting lists
* Fury as number waiting more than six weeks for NHS cancer tests soars
shocking 23-fold in less than a decade
This is the health care future that big-government lawmakers want for our
country. But as with everything the government does, it’ll cost more — and
deliver less.

Government routinely imposes rules and regulations that are supposed to bring
costs down, but all they do is force providers to hire paper pushers. As a
result, there are 10 administrators for every doctor in U.S. hospitals.

Instead of pumping more money into a broken system, shouldn’t we fund patients
instead?

Here’s a Personal Option solution: Why not let employers put into a health
savings account what the company would spend on providing traditional health
insurance for an employee?

That way, employees would have total control of their health care dollars and
get to decide what kind of coverage they want.

They could use that money to buy into their employer’s health plan, choose an
individual policy, or purchase subscription medicine like direct primary care.

Here’s the point: The employee decides what health care coverage best fits
their individual needs.

This plan would also force insurance companies and providers to compete for
your business, lowering costs.

If you agree that this approach makes more sense than pumping more money into
government and insurance company bureaucracies, please let your elected
official know you support a Personal Option for health care!
