Updated self-harm data dashboard now available

An updated version of the self-harm data dashboard is now available on the Wisconsin Department of Health Services website. The revised dashboard features 2023 data. Here are a few things to keep in mind as you review the updated dashboard.

  • The dashboard does not currently have a trend graphic because there are only two years of data available that use the same methodology to identify patients with self-harm (see the below item for more detail).
  • The addition of a new ICD-10-CM code that references non-suicidal self-harm has contributed to an increase in overall counts and rates, especially among younger residents. This code may be present in a health record without any reference to a self-harm injury by specified method or without reference to any other type of injury.
  • New filters are now available for method of self-harm and additional diagnoses in the patient’s record. This allows dashboard users to review data by age group (<25 years, 25–54 years, 55+) and by sex.
