Dear Friend,
Everyone gets sick and everyone needs access to health care—no exceptions!
Health care is a basic human need, and no one should be left out.
[ [link removed] ]Quick signature: Tell President-Elect Trump and Republicans in the U.S.
Congress that they need to take cuts to Medicaid and the Affordable Care
Act (ACA) off the table! *When you click, you’ll automatically sign on if

What’s happening? Health care proposals from Republicans for next year
would make deep cuts to Medicaid and also undermine the Affordable Care
Act (ACA) in order to pay for their massive tax cuts to the super wealthy
and mega-corporations. [1] The result would have a devastating impact on
families—leading to higher health care costs, losing protections for
people with pre-existing conditions, and making the number of people
without insurance sky-rocket. [ [link removed] ] [2]THIS IS NOT OKAY!
The core health care programs that Trump and Republican leadership are
putting forward for cuts make sure kids and families can access important
medical care, like check-ups, vaccines, prescription medicines, and
maternity care. In fact, Medicaid covers over half of America’s children
and four out of every ten births. [ [link removed] ] It is also critical for ensuring
people with disabilities and seniors get the care they need and is the
primary source of coverage for long-term services and supports in nursing
facilities and home- and community-based services. [ [link removed] ] Medicaid is also
crucial in helping rural communities access health care and keeping small
rural hospitals open. [ [link removed] ] Additionally, cuts to Medicaid would
automatically end coverage for low-income people in some states that
expanded the program under the ACA. [ [link removed] ]
Medicaid and the ACA are a safety net for families, especially during
times of economic hardship. Right now, nearly 20 million people in the
U.S. get help paying for their health coverage through the ACA health
insurance marketplace. [ [link removed] ] Congress recently temporarily increased these
health care tax credits which has contributed to a record low uninsured
rate! Our families are healthier and more productive because of these
health care tax credits. If Republican leadership in the upcoming Congress
allows these tax credits to expire, millions of people will face losing
health insurance and higher medical bills. Republican leadership in
Congress should be strengthening and expanding Medicaid and the ACA—not
cutting them!

children, families, and seniors! *When you click, you’ll automatically

This is important. Medicaid and the ACA are essential for ensuring health
equity, reducing structural racism and ableism, and supporting the
well-being of millions of families. They provide critical health care
access for kids, pregnant women, seniors, people with disabilities,
communities of color, rural communities, and low-income adults. By
reducing barriers to care, they help create a healthier, fairer society.
Research shows that the ACA, along with Medicaid expansion, has reduced
income inequality in states that have adopted the expansion. [ [link removed] ] These
programs help level the playing field by giving people access to the care
they need, improving health outcomes, and strengthening families and
communities.
Medicaid and the ACA also strengthen our economy – and are critical to the
future of our nation! Access to quality health care for children has a
long-term return on investment that fosters healthier young people and
productive adults. Making sure people have quality care from the start
counteracts the effects of poverty and even reduces the likelihood of
future incarceration! [ [link removed] ]
These critical health care programs enable workers to stay healthy, reduce
the cost of absenteeism, and drive innovation by supporting the growth of
entrepreneurship—making these programs a cornerstone of economic
stability. We need to keep these core health care programs strong so our
nation is strong, too.

Dear President-Elect Trump and Congress,
Everyone gets sick and everyone needs access to health care—no
exceptions! Medicaid and the Affordable Care Act are essential lifelines
for millions of children and families across the United States. They
provide critical access to medical care while protecting individuals and
families from financial devastation.
Investing in health care strengthens our economy. Access to health care
coverage enables people to stay healthy and productive, reduces the cost
of absenteeism, drives innovation, and supports the growth of
entrepreneurship—making health care access a cornerstone of economic
stability.
Cuts to these programs would harm those who need health care the most
and have historically been cut off from care—like children, pregnant
women, seniors, rural populations, people with disabilities, communities
of color, and low-income adults—and should be off the table! Congress
should be strengthening and expanding Medicaid and the ACA, not cutting
them.
We urge you to reject any cuts to Medicaid and the Affordable Care Act.
Protect our collective future and ensure millions of families can keep
the health care they need.
[5]Don’t forget to add your name to protect Medicaid and the Affordable
Care Act!
The bottom line is, we must protect Medicaid and the ACA to ensure
millions of families can keep the health care they need. Thank you for
joining us in the fight to protect our health care!
