LCV

Friend — earlier this year, we wrote to you about Project 2025, the far-right policy roadmap that calls for gutting environmental agencies, rolling back core safeguards to benefit polluters, and eroding the right to vote.

Now, one of its key authors, Russell Vought, has just been picked for a crucial Cabinet position overseeing the entire federal budget and government-wide regulatory decisions.

In a leaked speech delivered to far-right political donors, Vought said that he wants employees tasked with protecting our environment to “feel trauma” and has called for their funding to be “shut down.”

LCV is ready to oppose Project 2025’s radical agenda in Congress, in the states, and in the streets — but the truth is that we rely on support from LCV members to make our campaigns work. That’s why we’re aiming to raise $25,000 from LCV members before December 31.

In just a few weeks, we’re going to be facing the most dangerous anti-environmental administration in history, with Project 2025 as its roadmap and climate deniers and fossil fuel cronies in key federal positions.

In addition to Vought, these include Chris Wright — a Big Oil CEO — who has been picked to lead the Department of Energy. Wright is a science denier who has said “there is no climate crisis.” Their views may sound absurd, but make no mistake: Trump’s extreme nominees will be ready on Day One to do polluters’ bidding and attack our environment and our democracy.

At LCV, we’ve fought the far right’s dirty agenda before, and we’re ready to do it again. We’re working with allies, elected leaders, and supporters across the country to limit or block the damage a second Trump administration can do. But we rely on support from LCV members to make our campaigns work. So, we’re asking:

Thanks for standing with us, Friend. Supporters like you inspire us every day to fight for people and our planet.

Onward,
