Climate Justice

In the global climate crisis, individual stories can sometimes be overshadowed, but although climate change will not impact us all the same, it will affect us all. In this week’s Climate Justice newsletter, we focus on the experiences of individuals and communities in the path of climate events, dealing with the aftermath, and preparing for uncertain futures. First, 2024 may have been another difficult year for the environment, but there is hope in Europe, where young activists are helping to shape policy for the years ahead. Next, how does philanthropy fuel the fire of saviorism disguised as progress? By taking funding away from those on the front lines. Then, how can a homeowner cope when her insurance rates become unaffordable due to climate disasters? Finally, to reach environmental justice program goals, racial equity and owning resources cooperatively must be centered.
