[URGENT] Gaza:
Donate today to help families in crisis >>
Your gift will be doubled.
John,
Dr. Hakim is an emergency medic at Nasser Hospital in Gaza. He has worked closely with the IRC's Emergency Medical Team (EMT) and our partner, Medical Aid for Palestinians.
He provides life-saving care to people with devastating injuries from the war. But it's getting tougher and tougher.
"The shortage of medical supplies has become very, very, very severe. For example, in the operating rooms, there are no surgical or sterile gloves."
The few hospitals still running in Gaza are completely overwhelmed, and people are dying from infections. They urgently need support and supplies.
John, your support can help send IRC emergency teams and medical supplies, for example, to Gaza and other crisis areas around the world. Will you donate today so that your gift will be doubled?
Dr. Hakim explains the situation at Nasser Medical Complex, Gaza.
Since the war started, we've sent 11 emergency medical teams to Gaza to support health workers like Dr. Hakim and his colleagues.
These teams (composed of trauma doctors, surgeons and pediatricians) have carried out more than 600 surgeries and 2,800 consultations. And we've delivered 45 metric tons of pharmaceuticals and medical supplies.
But the situation is worsening, and every day more children, women and men are suffering life-threatening injuries that need urgent care.
Dr. Hakim says, "People are shouting, 'Doctor, help us!' We can't do anything for them, there are no beds, no oxygen."
John, your donation today will have double the impact for people in Gaza and other conflict zones around the world.
Dr. Hakim is haunted by memories of the horrific things he's witnessed. "It's a tragedy that we are living," he says.
Alongside his fellow physicians, he's afraid that one day he'll be faced with a member of his family needing emergency treatment.
"This is the ultimate fear for us, because there is no safe place."
Your support today could help make sure doctors in Gaza and across the world have the resources they need to provide critical care to every patient.
Will you support our life-saving work for children and families? Your gift will have twice the impact if you donate today.
Thank you for your kindness, John.
