Working Families Party

John —

One of Trump’s very first actions after the election was to hand-pick two unelected billionaires — Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy — to drastically cut federal government spending, and give them more opportunities to enrich themselves.

They have already proposed cutting $2 trillion1 in government spending — with everything from veterans’ medical care, Pell Grants, Head Start, and funding for the National Institute of Health on the chopping block.2

And despite promises made to working class voters on the campaign trail, Musk, Ramaswamy, and Republicans have made it clear that Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid are in their sights as well.3

The good news? Most of the proposed cuts would need to pass through Congress. And with Republicans holding a razor thin majority in the House, Speaker Johnson can’t afford any defections. This gives us a real opportunity to stop these cuts like these (or worse) in their tracks — but only if enough of us speak out and make our voices heard.

Will you sign our petition to tell Congress: Protect Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid from being raided by billionaires and oppose any and all budget cuts that will hurt working families?

As the world’s richest man, Elon Musk spent $277 million4 to elect Donald Trump. It was a tiny drop in the bucket for him — and his investment is already paying off big-time.

Musk’s wealth has already increased by over 77% since the election, becoming the first person ever to surpass $400 billion in net worth.

And now he wants to cash in even more by demanding drastic cuts to programs that uplift the working class. Meanwhile, Republicans intend to make Trump’s tax cuts for billionaires permanent.5

The pundit class may have been hoodwinked by Trump’s supposed “populist” agenda, and some working class voters may have hoped his election would mean they’d see real difference in their lives. But Trump and his new BFF Elon Musk are already scheming to turn the entire federal government into a corrupt slush fund by and for the billionaires, with working people left out in the cold. And it will be up to all of us, working together, to stop them.

With your help, we can make these proposed cuts a poison pill that no Member of Congress will want to touch. Sign our petition opposing Elon Musk’s cuts, and together we can show both Republicans and Democrats in Congress that there will be political consequences if they support any cuts to the social safety net.
