We’ve sent a number of messages since Election Day, so we wanted to take a moment to explain where things stand, but also to talk about why these messages continue to be so important.

No doubt about it: the election did not go the way we had hoped. Democrats invested millions of dollars and hours but ultimately, we came up short. But this is no time to sit back. Our work now is more important than ever.

Soon, Trump will be sworn into office. We already know what he and his allies are capable of and what they plan to do. It’s crucial that we have a strong and robust Democratic Party to fight back, organize, and stop the worst impulses of a second Trump administration and an emboldened Republican Party under his control.

If you understand the importance of stopping Trump’s far-right agenda and standing up to him and his allies, we are asking you to contribute to the Democratic National Committee today. Click here to do just that:

The truth is that the DNC is best positioned to move resources where they are needed, when they are needed. It is what we do. Especially now as we gear up for what is going to be a tough fight.

And your donations — in response to emails just like this one — make up a very big part of our ability to do that work.

So while you may not have opened this email expecting to donate, given how important it is for us to fight back and rebuild and how effectively we can put your contribution to work, we have to ask:

Can Democrats everywhere count on you to contribute to the Democratic National Committee today? We would not ask if it were not so important.

Thank you in advance for donating today. Anything is possible when this team comes together.
