Dear friend -
Every week, we hear from students, teachers, families and young leaders across the country. They write to us with questions, ideas, and an unshakable belief that our schools can and should be safe places to learn and grow.
These voices help inspire us to do what we do.
Recently, a high school student reached out to us as part of a school project advocating for responsible firearm ownership. Her thoughtful questions about balancing freedom with the urgent need to protect students reminded us how deeply young people are paying attention—and how much they need adults to lead with courage.
Among her questions were:
- “What inspired you to take on this fight?”
- “What do you think needs to change to stop school shootings?”
Another educator in Florida asked if we could speak to her students about the realities of gun violence. She hoped our experiences could help her community take threats more seriously and foster a safer environment.
These moments fuel us. They remind us that young people are paying attention—and counting on all of us to lead with courage and determination.
But we can’t do this alone. Every time we answer these calls, advocate for change, or fight for stronger safety measures, it’s because of the support of people like you.
Can you chip in $25, $50, or whatever you can today to help us keep fighting for safer schools?
