Empowering Latinos, Advancing Communities, Building the Future Together

Dear John,

As we approach the end of 2024, we pause to reflect on the progress we’ve made together in strengthening the voice and presence of the Latino community across the United States. This year has been one of resilience, advocacy, and transformation—thanks to your support. We are reminded that the work of LULAC is not just about protecting the rights of Latinos, but also about actively shaping the future where every Latino thrives.

The impact of our work has been profound, and we are proud of what we’ve accomplished in 2024. From expanding educational opportunities to standing up against injustice, LULAC has been at the forefront of crucial issues affecting Latinos. Yet, our work is far from done. As we look to the future, we are reaching out to you—our committed partners—to help us continue building capacity within our LULAC Councils and keep providing vital programs to serve the growing Latino community across the nation.

Latinos are a Driving Force in the U.S. Economy and Society

Before we dive into the specifics of our accomplishments, we want to remind you of the incredible contributions Latinos make to the U.S. economy and society. In 2023, Latinos contributed over $3.7 trillion to the U.S. GDP, a reflection of the growth and dynamism of our community. Over 60% of new entrepreneurs in the U.S. are Latino, and Latino workers represent 18% of the U.S. labor force, making Latinos critical to the nation's economic engine. Our community is not just growing in number but also in influence, innovation, and economic power.

These contributions are possible because of the relentless drive of Latinos to build, grow, and uplift. However, barriers still remain. In education, health, and political representation, Latinos continue to face challenges that hinder their full potential. That’s where LULAC steps in. Through education, advocacy, and empowerment, we are breaking down those barriers and creating opportunities for every Latino to succeed.

LULAC’s 2024 Milestones: Impacting Lives and Empowering Communities

Here are just a few of the achievements we’ve made in 2024 with your help:

Expanded LULAC Academy

In 2024, we launched the LULAC Academy, a transformative leadership training program. With over 200 participants at our National Convention, the Academy covered critical topics such as health, technology, education, and business. As we move forward, we are expanding this program to reach even more people by launching an online version, allowing us to serve up to 1,000 young adults across the nation. This innovative program will address key issues like health, STEM, environmental stewardship, and financial literacy—equipping our youth with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in an ever-changing world.

Fighting Voter Intimidation in Texas

LULAC took a firm stand against the troubling trend of voter intimidation in South Texas. In response to unlawful raids targeting Latino elected leaders, candidates, and campaign workers, we called for a full investigation into the racial and political motivations behind these actions. Our commitment to defending civil rights and preserving the integrity of the democratic process is unwavering.

Supporting Workers and Families in the Aftermath of Tragedy

When six Latino construction workers tragically lost their lives in the collapse of the Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore, LULAC quickly raised over $40,000 to support their families. This response is just one example of our dedication to the well-being of Latino families and workers, especially those who face systemic risks and exploitation in dangerous industries.

Health Fairs and Community Engagement

During Hispanic Heritage Month, LULAC hosted health fairs in San Antonio, connecting Latino families with essential health services like mammograms, HIV screenings, and vaccinations. This year, we are expanding these efforts with additional fairs planned in Dallas and Phoenix, ensuring that more communities have access to critical health information and resources.

A Growing Network of Support

Our membership has grown to 309,651, an increase of 238% from last year. LULAC now boasts 535 councils across the nation, all working together to uplift Latino communities. Our strength lies in our members, and we are proud to continue expanding our reach and influence.

Looking Ahead to 2025 and Beyond

As we look toward 2025, LULAC is committed to advocating for policies that will improve the economic, health, and educational outcomes for all Latinos. We will continue to expand the LULAC Academy, hold events that inspire and unite our community, and fight for justice wherever it is needed. Among our key upcoming events is the 2025 Legislative Conference & Gala in Washington, D.C. and our National Convention in Long Beach, California.

However, none of this would be possible without your continued support. As the year comes to a close, we ask you to consider making a year-end donation to help us carry this critical work forward. Your contribution will directly support our programs, expand our reach, and provide the resources necessary to continue empowering Latinos across the country.

Together, We Can Build a Thriving Future for Latinos

The future of the Latino community is bright, but we must continue to invest in the programs and advocacy that will help us fully realize our potential. Your support helps ensure that we can continue to provide critical services, fight for our rights, and lead the charge for a more equitable society.

Please make a tax-deductible donation today, and let’s make 2025 even stronger than 2024.

Thank you for being a part of the LULAC family. Together, we are making a difference, and together, we will build a better future.

With heartfelt gratitude,
