We have urgent news. Despite Adrian Cortes' hard-fought victory flipping the 18th Legislative District State Senate seat, the Washington State Republican Party is refusing to accept the will of the voters. They’ve filed a federal lawsuit demanding the election results be thrown out.
This is a desperate and baseless attempt to overturn the results of a fair and democratic election. Adrian won by 173 votes, with every legal vote counted and verified in a recount. But it seems Republicans only accept election results when they’re in their favor. Otherwise, they cry foul and spread misinformation to undermine our democracy.
