The math is simple. If men stop buying sex, women and children will stop being trafficked.
Our documentary Buying Her explores the stories of sex buyers, because their actions hold the solution to ending sex trafficking.
This film uncovers some jarring truths:
-Sex buyers begin as porn-addicted children.
-Sex buyers know they are funding the exploitation of vulnerable women and children.
-Sex buyers can be changed.
After an incredible world tour—where Buying Her reached audiences in twelve countries, and inspired lawmakers to introduce stronger laws—we are soon to launch the worldwide release of this film next month!
Buying Her holds the key for understanding what drives sex buyers, and highlights the urgent need to pass laws that will hold them accountable.
That’s why, alongside this film release, we’ll also be launching the Uproot Trafficking campaign, urging lawmakers to make it a felony to purchase sex in the US and around the world.
If there were one law we could pass to pull trafficking up from the roots, this would be it.
Making sex buying a felony is critical to destroying the foundation that trafficking is built upon.
What’s also essential is ensuring that victims of the sex trade are offered services rather than a criminal record. That’s another key aim of the Uproot Trafficking campaign.
With the expertise of our new Director of Public Policy (an Oxford graduate with over a decade of experience fighting trafficking), and the hundreds of anti-exploitation organizations and lawmakers we’ve developed a relationship with, we’ll be boldly advocating for these critical laws to pass.
To be sure, this campaign is no sprint. It’s a marathon. But we’re in it till the job is done, because compassionate people like you are running with us.
We don’t receive government funding to create films that reach millions of viewers or launch campaigns that can protect millions of lives.
This work is forged and carried forward by YOUR generosity.
We’re already at 49% of our year-end $350K goal.
