John,
There have been a lot of milestones throughout my 18 years with Texas Freedom Network, and as I prepare to pass the torch, I have just one more to hit. This, John, is my final fundraising email — and I saved the best for last!
A group of longtime TFN activists and supporters are generously matching, dollar-for-dollar, every donation we receive before midnight on December 31 — up to $50,000! — to keep TFN in the fight. So you can double the power and value of your gift with a donation today! [[link removed]]
I know sometimes it can feel like defending progressive values in Texas is too much of an uphill battle. But as 2024 draws to a close, I am truly optimistic about the future. Look at just a few of the many things we did together this year: defending church-state separation in public schools, opposing right-wing book bans and censorship, expanding our work to support reproductive freedom, and elevating the voices of progressive clergy as a counter to the hateful rhetoric of the religious right.
As we look to the work ahead, I’m asking you to make your commitment to TFN with a gift to our Defend Democracy Fund [[link removed]] .
I’m not going to sugarcoat anything as we approach 2025. The far right has never been more extreme or powerful. But Texas is our home, and we will continue to fight for a home we can all be proud of.
Can I count on you to support this important work by sending in a gift to our Defend Democracy Fund today? [[link removed]]
Though I’m passing the torch to the next generation, I remain a proud member of the Texas Freedom Network and ally with you in this work. Together, we will continue to work for social justice and an inclusive democracy in this state. Thank you!
Wishing you and your loved ones all the best this season and in the year to come.
In the fight,
