I want to hear your thoughts, John.
I’m considering running for DNC Vice Chair because we need a new generation of bold leaders to build an intergenerational coalition in the Democratic Party.
I’ve been traveling across the country for the past two years, talking to everyday people and knocking on doors in every swing state you can imagine – including some very red states like Alabama and Texas – and everywhere else in between.
Far too many people I’ve met have described Democrats as “elitist” and “out of touch.” People don’t believe that Democrats are really on their side – they think we are condescending, talking down to them rather than listening to their voices.
One thing that I’ve learned is that Democrats would rather live in a comfortable delusion rather than an uncomfortable reality. The party needs to open its eyes and take its fingers out of its ears. We cannot just surround ourselves with people who already agree with us and refuse to listen to anyone with a different opinion.
I think it’s time for leadership at the DNC that is not afraid to take accountability for the errors Democrats have made in the past and is not afraid of the conversations we need to have about the future of the party and where we should go from here.
John, I’d like to hear directly from you: Do you think I should run for DNC Vice Chair? And what are your priorities for transforming the Democratic Party? Fill out my survey here:

No matter what, I’ll always stay committed to the work we’re doing together and our mission at Leaders We Deserve to elect more young people to public office.
Thank you for your support,
