John,
As this year draws to a close, we're reflecting on meaningful
moments and milestones. With your support, we've connected more people and communities
to the joys and benefits of quality outdoor spaces. Those spaces make
us happy. They make us healthy. They make us grateful, and so do you.

More Stories for You
Honoring Tennessee's Forgotten HistoryÂ
[link removed]
Last month, TPL partnered with Chattanooga Design Studio for the CIVIQ
speaker event featuring landscape architect Thomas Woltz, who
discussed his vision for restoring a historic site known as "the
Field." The largely overgrown site holds the unmarked graves of
hundreds of people who couldn't afford burial, including many Black
Chattanoogans. This event marked the launch of the major restoration
project.
Nine NYC Community Schoolyards Open in 2024

In NYC, we opened nine new student-designed schoolyards this year.
These vibrant spaces are enjoyed by students during the day and local
residents after hours, all while their climate-smart features help
build resilient neighborhoods year-round.

This Hawaiian proverb meaning, "No task is too big when done
together," captures the triumphs and growth of TPL Hawai?i this
year. From protecting over 500 acres to spending time with community
and ?aina (land), we mahalo (thank) everyone who supports our
work here.
Big Wins for Georgia's Outdoors

From the Chattahoochee RiverLands to community schoolyards, TPL is
partnering with communities across Georgia to create green spaces and
protect public lands where they're needed most. See how
we're connecting more Georgians to the outdoors-this year
and beyond!
Minnesotans Vote "Yes" for Conservation

Minnesota's lottery amendment passed in November, which means a
more robust budget to protect our cherished landscapes, waters, and
wildlife. Thanks to Minnesotans' commitment to conservation, we can
continue to safeguard our state's natural treasures.

Question of the Month
[link removed]
John Muir wrote and published over 300 magazine articles and
12 books about nature, catching the attention of President Theodore
Roosevelt. In 1903, Muir guided the president on a camping trip
through Yosemite. Inspired by the experience, Roosevelt set aside more
than 230 million acres of public land-an area larger than
Texas-that included five national parks and 18 national
monuments. Source: National Park ServiceÂ
