Today marks the ninth anniversary of the world coming together to adopt the Paris Agreement at COP 21 to limit global temperature rise. But this was just the start. Over the next year and culminating at COP 30, world leaders will be making some major decisions that affect the entire planet and the lives of future generations. As we saw at this year’s COP 29 in Azerbaijan, we still have a long way to go. This year’s disappointing climate finance deal only underscored the flaws in the COP process and the outsized influence of fossil fuel interests in global climate negotiations. Whether or not we meet the goals of the Paris Agreement depends on what’s next. With so much relying on the outcome of next year’s COP 30 in Brazil, it’s on us to keep up the pressure. Act now: Tell world leaders to phase out fossil fuels and transition to clean energy. Thanks for everything that you do, -Your friends at Climate Reality
