Fellow Advocate,
After the alleged killer of United Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson was found with a ghost gun at a Pennsylvania McDonald’s,[1] ghost guns have become a hot topic. Because of this, I wanted to reach out directly and tell you about all the critical work we’ve done in 2024 to protect communities from these homemade, untraceable weapons, and how you can support this important work in the new year.
In 2024, we followed a two-pronged approach to make these deadly, untraceable weapons illegal in Pennsylvania:
* In March, we passed a bipartisan ghost gun bill in the Pennsylvania House, which is still awaiting a hearing in the Senate.
* After the Commonwealth Court upheld Philadelphia’s ghost gun ordinance earlier this year, we helped the cities of York, Reading, and Harrisburg pass ordinances banning the sale or manufacture of ghost guns in their cities.
Your tireless advocacy and investment in our movement helped us make these gains. You have the opportunity to fight untraceable firearms in 2025 by donating $5 today.

Next year, with your continued support, we plan to support a more comprehensive bill that builds on the previous bill, and regulates untraceable and undetectable guns, including ones made with 3D printers. In 2025, we will continue to advocate at the local level for ghost gun regulations across the Commonwealth, and stand ready to help any city, township, or borough interested in passing a local regulation.
I cannot reiterate enough that all of this is made possible through generous support from grassroots donors like you. Your commitment, and collective might, moves legislative mountains, allowing us to finally ban ghost guns in PA – from Altoona to Aliquippa. Will you rush a $5 donation to help us get there, aiding law enforcement, and doing our part to free our future from gun violence?
