John, the festive season is in full swing and social calendars are jam packed with fun activities but, if you live with diabetes or support someone who does, it’s easy to feel as though this time of year revolves around foods that can make diabetes management more difficult.

Managing your diabetes this December doesn’t need to mean avoiding your favourite foods, or missing out on celebrations. To help you celebrate with confidence, we’ve put together some Christmas advice for you. From dietitian approved festive recipes to our tips for eating out and staying active, our advice, tips and tricks have your festive season covered.

We know that, for some people, this time of year can also be stressful so if you’re in need of extra support, why not turn to our community forum ( [link removed] ) where there’s someone to turn to 24/7. Our Helpline ( [link removed] ) team are also around to support you with any questions or concerns you may have but, please note, the Helpline will be closed for Christmas from 3pm on 24 December and will re-open at 9am on 2 January.

Festive treats

Looking for a healthier twist on a classic Christmas dessert? This festive fruit cake is a must-try! Quick to prepare in just 20 minutes, it’s bursting with fruit and warming mixed spice. Our recipe also has more fibre and less saturated fat than most shop-bought versions, making it a better choice for a special occasion this holiday season.
