You may know me from my role in Harry Potter, but you might not be aware that I am a lifelong animal advocate. So, when World Animal Protection US first reached out to me about Joyce, an African elephant stolen from the wild, my heart broke for her.

Her story is one of unimaginable suffering--for over 40 years, humans have exploited Joyce in zoos, circuses, and other captive venues around the US. And right now, she is trapped with four other elephants at Six Flags in New Jersey, enduring a harsh winter that bears no resemblance to her African home.

Joyce's tragic story captures the plight of so many elephants taken from the wild and forced to endure exploitation and misery for human entertainment.

Thankfully, World Animal Protection is launching their 2024 Year-End Matching Gift Challenge to end animal suffering worldwide. Your gift will be matched 100% through midnight on December 31.

2010: Joyce is sold to Six Flags in New Jersey, where she live today
