Dear Friend,
Join us for a Zoom call on May 28th at 2 pm Eastern as we discuss The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly of Title IX.
Few issues in higher education are more divisive than Title IX. Students, parents, civil rights organizations, and administrators often complain about it — either Title IX doesn't go far enough or it's an example of regulatory overreach. What is Title IX? How did it come to govern campus sexual harassment? What do the new regulations released by the Department of Education mean for Title IX administrators and students, both the accused and accusers of Title IX violations?
The event will feature Samantha Harris, a Senior Fellow at the Foundation for Individual Rights in Education (FIRE) and Of Counsel for Mudrick & Zucker; KC Johnson, a professor of history at CUNY Graduate Center and Brooklyn College; and Nicholas H. Wolfinger, a professor of family and consumer studies at the University of Utah. They will discuss the advantages and disadvantages of Title IX, including the recent regulations released by the Department of Education.
