Step back from the nuclear brink: Ukraine, NATO and Trump – CND webinar

Thank you to everyone who was able to take part in last weekend's emergency day of action for Ukraine despite the weather warnings. We are keeping up the pressure on the government. If you haven’t already, please lobby your MP today. Join us for our upcoming international webinar on Wednesday, 18 December, which will look at the future of NATO and the war in Ukraine in the context of Donald Trump's presidency.

  • Wednesday, 18 December
  • 7pm
  • Online, register here

With guest speakers: Ann Wright, retired US Colonel; Sevim Dağdelen, German MP; Sophie Bolt, CND General Secretary; Lindsey German, Stop the War Convenor, and Tom Unterrainer, CND Chair.

Britain has still to comment on its role in the latest escalation in Ukraine. The same week the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI) announced skyrocketing profits for global arms companies in 2023, the government announced its new military-industrial strategy, tying economic growth to great global instability.

CND General Secretary Sophie Bolt writes in her recent blog post:

“The government is trying to present building new nuclear submarines as a dynamic catalyst for Britain’s economic growth. But nothing could be further from the truth. The reality is you can’t build sustainable growth on genocide, global militarism and the threat of nuclear war.”

Last chance to buy limited edition CND symbol prints!

We're fast approaching the end of the sales period of the Print Peace Project, which ends at midnight tonight!

Rounded Dot's Peace Print Project has brought together ten leading London artists to create works inspired by Gerald Holtom's iconic CND symbol. All proceeds from the sales go to CND. See the designs here

Can you help us transport the CND symbol to RAF Lakenheath?

We hope to take the CND symbol to RAF Lakenheath in the spring, as part of the next peace camp organised by Lakenheath Alliance for Peace. The symbol is already on a trailer but we need a volunteer with a vehicle to take the trailer from Bristol to Suffolk around the time of the camp starting on 12 April. If you are a position to help and want to discuss further, email [email protected].
