Republicans keep saying that they’re planning to slash Social Security.

Incoming Senate Majority Leader John Thune¹ (who is taking over for Mitch McConnell) told NBC News:

Mandatory programs are areas that they're looking to make cuts in, like Social Security, for example.

Why the urgency? Donald Trump put the richest man on Earth, Elon Musk, and pharmaceutical billionaire Vivek Ramaswamy in charge of a commission aimed at slashing $2 trillion in government spending.

But at the same time, the House of Representatives is looking to pass about $4 trillion in tax cuts for the rich! The AP just reported the Republican agenda for 2025:²

Atop the list is the plan to renew some $4 trillion in expiring GOP tax cuts, a signature domestic achievement of Trump’s first term and an issue that may define his return to the White House.

This is a clear plot to steal $2 trillion from Social Security and Medicare and put it directly into the pockets of Trump’s wealthy benefactors! Together, we can stop them! Chip in today!
