Hi John,
My name is Will, and I'm the Volunteer Coordinator for Netroots Nation. I first attended Netroots in its second year and have returned every year since.
What makes me come back year after year? Here's just a few reasons:
The chance for learning. You're not going to find a better offering of trainings and issue discussions for progressives anywhere else. Whether you're looking for a media training or discussion about organizing to fight climate change, we've got you covered.
A dose of inspiration. I’m a life-long activist. If you've been doing this work for years like I have, you might be a little jaded or tired. Netroots consistently books speakers who fire me up and recharge my activist batteries for another year in the struggle.
The chance to meet partners face to face. Working in coalition with other groups requires trust — and that trust is immeasurably strengthened when you can connect with someone face to face. Netroots is the best place to meet partners in person and get to know other organizers over coffee or a hallway conversation.
This week, the Netroots team is offering discounted tickets for the 2025 event, happening August 7-9 in New Orleans. Click here to get your ticket now at a discount!
Still on the fence about attending? Here's what a few others have to say:
- “Netroots is one of the most important gathering places for the progressive movement. It combines politics/culture/economics/social assessment and the joy of being in this sprawling movement to make this a more just and democratic world.” –Heather Booth, organizer
- “Spending a few days surrounded by activist and political leaders from across the U.S. was more inspiring than I could have imagined. I’m still fired up!” –Maria, first time attendee
- “Netroots is a powerful, game-changing event. I left feeling energized, empowered, and counting down the days until next year’s event!” –Yann, attendee
